Wednesday, July 23, 2014 @ 02:02 pm - Son of British Singer, Adele Wins Privacy Case

LONDON (AP) — British singer Adele's toddler son has won a five-figure sum in damages after paparazzi photographed private family moments.

Adele's lawyer Jenny Afia said Wednesday that the Grammy-winning performer was adamant her son Angelo must never become "public property."

She said: "It is a matter of profound sadness that many of his milestone moments, such as his first family outing and his first trip to playgroup, were photographed and published worldwide expressly against his family's wishes."

Afia said Adele accepts her public profile, but the family never encourages routine photos that intrude on their privacy.

The damages from the settlement with photo agency Corbis Images UK will be held in a trust for Angelo, who turns 2 in October, and the agency agreed not to use the photos again.

Tuesday, May 6, 2014 @ 09:54 am - Adele Teases New Album '25' On Twitter
Adele has fuelled speculation around the release details of her new album on her official Twitter account.

Celebrating her 26th birthday, the 'Someone Like You' singer posted a selfie alongside a message which hinted that this isn't the last we'd seen of her and the number '25'.

The singer's comments seem to confirm rumours that her third studio offering will be titled '25', and will be released here in the UK later in 2014.

One Republic's Ryan Tedder recently revealed that Adele is sounding "better than ever" on her new album, and added that he is "prouder" of their new collaborations then anything they've ever worked on before.

Adele's two previous albums, '19' and '21' were named after the singer's age when she wrote them.

Sunday, April 20, 2014 @ 12:33 pm - Adele plans comeback at London's Albert Hall
CHART-topping singer Adele is secretly planning a comeback three years after her last show.

The 25-year-old star has not performed a full-length concert since suffering vocal problems in 2011.

Now she is considering returning to the stage for the release of her third album, due out in October, and sources say she sees London’s Royal Albert Hall as the perfect venue.

The hush-hush show would be one of the hottest tickets in the capital as Oscar-winner Adele is one of the bestselling artists of all time.

Executives at her record label hope she may follow this with concerts in New York and Los Angeles.

“This is the most exciting and promising news fans have had from Adele for ages,” said a source close to the star. “She is considering a comeback gig to promote her new CD.

“Her voice has been getting stronger over time and she has been working hard to rehabilitate it. A world tour is still a long way off, certainly a conventional series of shows.

“Everything will be on her terms. The key to all these plans is that Adele feels comfortable with her voice. She has vowed that she never wants to break down during a tour or put her voice through so much stress that she suffers problems. Her doctors warned her that stress could also mean more surgery, and she is adamant that she never wants to go through that again.”

Adele last performed a full 90-minute set in Glasgow on September 25, 2011.

The source, based in Los Angeles, said: “The delicacies of the situation are apparent to everyone from Adele to her management. She is very settled with her family life and being a mum. A lengthy trip around the world with a baby on board could change that.”

Adele’s spokesman was not available for comment.

Tuesday, November 12, 2013 @ 01:46 pm - Adele Turns Down $20 Million Deal With L'Oreal
Adele leaves L'Oreal "gobsmacked" after knocking back a multi-million dollar deal.

British singer Adele has walked away from a lucrative cosmetics deal with L'Oreal which would have made her the highest-paid celebrity in the brand's history.

25-year-old Adele was reportedly months into negotiations with the cosmetic giant to replace Cheryl Cole as the face of the brand, but declined the four-year contract worth $20 million. The knock back has left the company "gobsmacked".

“L’Oréal was in negotiations for the deal with Adele and it looked to be happening – but she just changed her mind on it," a source revealed.

“L’Oréal is gobsmacked that she turned down such a huge amount.”

In 2011, the Skyfall singer said, “I don’t want my name anywhere near another brand. I don’t wanna be tainted or haunted. I think it’s shameful when you sell out.”

Considering Adele's net worth of $55 million, she can resist selling out for a while longer.

Tuesday, November 5, 2013 @ 09:28 am - Adele Shopping With Son, Blends Into Crowd
Red lips, professionally tousled locks, a sparkly dress ... When it comes to the red carpet, Adele certainly knows all the ingredients to looking like a star.

But when Adele went shopping in London recently she looked more like, well, one of us.

Dressed casually in tight black leggings, black and white Nike trainers and an oversized patchwork cape, the 25-year-old was barely recognisable as she browsed furniture shops at the Chelsea Harbour Design Centre.

Her hair was piled on her head in a messy top knot, with loose strands blowing in the wind.

She didn’t appear to be wearing any make-up and her only item of jewellery was a thin gold chain that she wears around her neck.

In her arms she clutched her one-year-old son, Angelo, whose face was covered by a hooded sweater. And she stared at the ground as she tried to go unnoticed.

The Someone Like You singer was looking at furniture at the upmarket Chelsea Harbour Design Centre, where the Duchess of Cambridge has also been known to shop, houses showrooms for some of the leading interiors brands.

Friday, October 25, 2013 @ 01:15 pm - Adele Plans Top Gear After Passing Driving Test

She's only been a certified driver for a matter of days.

But it seems Adele already has grand plans for her new skill - namely taking part in world-famous motoring show Top Gear.

According to the singer's driving instructor Noel Gaughan, mother-of-one Adele voiced her dream of appearing on the programme as one of their 'stars in a reasonably priced car' just after passing the test.

Noel said: 'Adele is a gifted driver and what she really wants is to be on Top Gear, with my encouragement. We discussed it and it's a dream.'

Noel added to The Sun: 'She was ecstatic when she passed. I nearly cried when I saw how much it meant to her.'

After passing her test on Friday 11th October, during which she received only one minor, Adele said: 'Noel is Dumbledore of roads. Could not have done it without him and his jokes changed my life.'

Noel admits he didn't know who Adele was, even when she started singing at the wheel.

Other famous faces who have appeared on the show include Ewan McGregor, and James McAvoy - who also passed his test after tuition from 'instructor to the stars' Noel.

The grateful stars have written their own words of praise for Noel on his website, .

Saturday, October 5, 2013 @ 03:41 pm - Adele Working on New Album
Adele is working on a new album and she's sounding "even better than before."

Ryan Tedder confirms that Adele is working on a new album and that it's awesome.

Adele is finally getting to work on the third album and according to her pal, Ryan Tedder, she’s is sounding as amazing as ever.

The record-breaking singer has gone through a lot of life-changing things since her mega smash album, 21, began its world domination of the charts.

She’s found love with her boyfriend Simon Konecki and they welcomed their baby boy, Angelo, into the world last year so we bet Adele has lots to sing about in the new album.

OneRepublic front man Ryan revealed that he’s been working with Adele and co-writing tracks for the 21 follow-up and it’s all going pretty well.

Speaking to the Herald Sun, he said: "Adele sounds even better than before. I love where she's at. She's still my favourite artist in the world.

"I would press pause on my entire life if it meant I could go into the studio for a month straight with her."

Ooo that’s some pretty big praise right? We can’t help but wonder what the theme of Adele’s album will be because she’s definitely not the heart-broken woman who wrote Someone Like You anymore.

Either way, if Ryan says she’s better than before then we’re inclined to believe him.

And if that wasn't exciting enough, he also gave a little hint about Beyonce’s upcoming album adding: "And Beyoncé's album will be mind-blowing."

Despite working with all our favourite ladies, Ryan still manages to find time to create hits like Counting Stars with his band OneRepublic.
